Southeast Texas Area Assembly Proposed Website Guidelines Purpose: The purpose of the Website shall be to assist Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) in carrying the message of A.A. by facilitating the exchange of information about A.A. activity in the Southeast Texas Area. It is intended to be a communication tool for those involved in General Service work within the Southeast Texas Area as well as to provide the individual A.A. member with information about our General Services. Internet Registration: a. Registered in the name of the Southeast Texas Area Assembly with the Internic as www.aa-seta.org b. Southeast Texas Area Assembly, Area 67, shall be named as the owner of the domain c. The billing contact will be the Area Treasurer d. The technical contact to the Internic must necessarily be our Web Host Provider. Webmaster/Alternate Webmaster will: Be elected members of the Southeast Texas Area Assembly Possess specific knowledge of Website development and implementation. Possess a strong understanding of A.A.'s 12 Traditions and 12 Concepts for World Service. Responsibilities will include: i. Insuring that the website is self-supporting by SETA without receiving services from any source outside the A.A. Structure or the A.A. Fellowship. ii. Monitoring and recording all expenses actually incurred in the maintenance and provision of the Website. An annual budget request shall be submitted to the Area Assembly for approval as required of all officers and standing committees of the Area Assembly. Expenditures shall be limited to approved, budgeted expenses of the committee. iii. Making all additions, changes, and deletions to the Website. iv. Interfacing with the Web Host Provider regarding technical matters. v. Insuring that no objectionable material is posted to the website, guarding that all posted material adheres strictly to our 12 Traditions and 12 Concepts as well as guidance provided in the A.A. Service Manual and subsequent revisions thereof. vi. Making a display available of and reporting on the Website at each Area Assembly vii. Providing a printed version of the information being displayed on the Website to the Chairperson of the Southeast Texas Area Assembly for review by members of the Assembly who do not have access to "on line services" viii. Enlisting the help of A.A. members within the Southeast Texas Area who have knowledge of website development and implementation to work on special projects. Site layout: A home page consisting of: i. The title "This is the "Official" Website of the Southeast Texas Area of Alcoholics Anonymous, Area 67" ii. A map displaying the Districts with hyperlinks pointing to information on the times & locations of District Sharing Sessions. (District links may also contain email aliases to each DCM's personal email address if so desired by the DCM) iii. The disclaimer: "This site is not endorsed nor approved by Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc. or any Internet service provider. It is an AA service solely provided by the Southeast Texas Area Assembly. No copyrighted material shall be purposefully posted herein without the express permission of those individuals or institutions possessing ownership of said copyrights. We must always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio, and films; and this goes for cyberspace as well. Events will be accepted for posting only from voting members of the Assembly and must be representative of those they serve (e.g. GSR's may submit events sponsored by their Group, DCM's events sponsored by their District or Groups in their District, Committee Chairpersons events sponsored by their committee) Service events sponsored by Southeast Texas Area A.A. and Southwest Regional A.A. as well as the General Service Conference will be posted as early as the information is available.
